Investigador del Centro Ballena Azul, Centro COPAS-Coastal de la Universidad de Concepción y del Instituto de Ciencias Marinas y Limnológicas de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh) .

Licenciado en biología marina de la UACh y doctor en Biología Marina de la misma casa de estudios. Su interés principal está ligado a la ecología cuantitativa, enfocándose en la ecología y conservación de mamíferos marinos.

En el Centro IDEAL, su labor se centra en el uso de herramientas de modelamiento para complementar las labores del centro, así como el estudio de la megafauna de la Patagonia y el mar Austral.
