Professor at the Institute of Marine and Limnological Sciences in the Faculty of Sciences at the University Austral of Chile. Degree in Biology at the University of Joensuu, PhD at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland.

Her research lines are focused on Ecophysiology, photobiology-phototoxicology of algae and bio-optical properties of water. Since 2010, she has researched the impact of global change on the physiology of Antarctic macroalgae, in scenarios of increased solar UV radiation and temperature.
