Nelson Valdivia Lahsen
Professor at the Institute of Marine and Limnological Sciences in the Faculty of Sciences at the University Austral of Chile. Degree in Marine Science with a M.Sc. in Marine Science at the Catholic University of the North. He earned his PhD in Natural Sciences at the University of Bremen in Germany.
Dr. Valdivia has researched changes in species diversity as a response to environmental variables and how modifications in biodiversity and the physical environment affect the functioning of ecosystems.
His current work is focused on how some aspects of climate change affect the interactions between benthic species and how these alterations are reflected in the way both Antarctic and Subantarctic hard-bottom marine ecosystems function.
