Nelso Navarro Martínez
Marine Biologist from the Universidad de Concepción, Master of Science, and Doctor of Science from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Navarro was the Undergraduate Chair of Marine Biology at the Universidad de Magallanes, where he is currently an Associate Professor and researcher.
Throughout his career, he has studied the physiology of macro- and microalgae as a basis for biotechnology. His research looks at the diversity of Antarctic and Subantarctic marine flora from an ecophysiological and molecular perspective and considers the relationship between the tolerance of reproductive structures for stress and the bathymetric and latitudinal distribution of species at high latitudes.
