Eileen E. Hofmann
Professor at the Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography at Old Dominion University, with a B.Sc at the Chestnut Hill College. She completed her M.Sc in Physical Oceanography and her PhD in Marine Sciences and Engineering at North Carolina State University.
Her research focuses on understanding physical and biological ocean interactions, temperature control of marine populations, descriptive physical oceanography and mathematical modeling of marine ecosystems. Throughout her career, she has been a member of numerous international scientific committees, among which is the Polar Research Board.
Her recent studies have focused on the mainland of the Antarctic Peninsula.
