Laura Nahuelhual
Associate Investigators
Investigator of the Research Center Dynamics of High Latitude Marine Ecosystems (IDEAL) and Research Associate at the Center for Climate Science and Resiliency (CR2).
She is an Agricultural Engineer and has a Master’s Degree in Rural Development at the University Austral of Chile. She earned her PhD. in Agricultural and Resource Economics at Colorado State University in the United States.
Dr. Nahuelhual has participated in projects related to the evaluation and valuation of ecosystem services in different contexts (for example, changes in land use or climate variability), promoting interdisciplinary work. She approaches all her research – whether dealing with marine or land socio-ecosystems – from a perspective of socio-ecological systems.
In addition to this, she leads the development of the Ocean Health Index for Chilean Patagonia.
