Diego Filún

Associate Investigators

Postdoctoral fellow at the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) and coordinator of the Dynamo project (Observatory in the Beagle Channel.) Degree in Marine Biology from the Austral University of Chile and a PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Bremen.

He has been dedicated to studying the ecology of marine mammals in subpolar and polar regions, mainly using passive acoustic methods.

Currently, his studies focus on the anthropogenic impact of underwater noise on marine ecosystems and how the effects of climate change may affect populations of marine mammals in Antarctica.
